Interested in a becoming a Teaching Artist?

If you have experience working in a creative or arts-based field and want to inspire youth, we want to connect! Beginning in 2024, we are launching Creative Fields, a new arts apprenticeship program that helps creative professionals enter or advance into their careers as Teaching Artists.

  • Beginning in 2024, we are launching Creative Fields, a new arts apprenticeship program that addresses the intersecting needs of teens and creative professionals in the Morongo Basin. Creative Fields will provide mentorship and arts career experience through studio workshops with emerging Teaching Artists. Each year, a cohort of participating Teaching Artists will each receive support in creating a 3-session workshop series for teen-aged youth, host classes in their studios or workspaces, and collaborate on a group exhibition or public program with youth participants over the course of 30-weeks.

Our intention in this first year is to build an annually-recurring program model that supports equitable access to the arts for youth and adds ongoing jobs and professional development for arts professionals in our area.

Creative Fields will make an impact on the lives of 20-25 individuals, the benefits of which will extend beyond the length of the program through professional work experience for youth, artist-mentorship relationships, funding for artists, and the interdependent community of creative professionals created over participants’ 30 weeks together.

  • We will have more information posted about how to submit your interest for future Creative Fields Teaching Artist cohorts here.
